Before I start with my little explaination, I would like you place an order for ‘THE CONCEPT OF SIN’ by Pastor Chris. That message will help you a long way to understand what sin is in the New Testament. Remember Christians are not of the old but of the new testament.
2 Corinth5:17 says “ If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. A new creature is one who is born again and a born again is one who receives a new birth from God in his spirit. When became a Christian, none of your former features changed. If you were dark, you remain dark. It is your spirit that’s born again. Your old nature died and you were given a new nature which is not from Adam but was birthed by God Himself (John 1:12-13). This new creature is not a citizen of any earthly origin. He does not have any earthly tribe, colour nor earthly tradition. As a matter of fact, there are 3 races on earth today; the Jews, gentiles and the Christians. This new creation, who is a Christian is a citizen of Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem. That is why you can be black, white, coloured, short, male, female, etc and still be a Christians. The word of God gave birth to you and every other Christian (1Peter 1:23), so why do you think that your earthly tradition which defines your dressing or fashion, is superior to other tribes in the Caribbean and should be the standard to know how a Christian should dress. If it is a sin for women to wear trouser, have you not seen tribes who their men wear skirts and gown till this day. What was David wearing when he was dancing under the anointing that brought brought a curse upon Saul’s daughter (one of his wives)? When you look at main traditional attires of tribes of the East Africans, is there anything like trouser for men or whatever anybody wears today. You will see that it is fashion that made you to wear trouser today. You can still minister and manifest the presence of God even if you are wearing rapper. The question is what is in your mind? The scripture in Deut22:5 is not about fashion but about body discharge. A woman is termed unclean under the jewish law when she is under menstruation. She would need to bring an offering/sacrifice for her cleansing when she is through with the menstruation. People are not meant to come near her during the time not to talk of a man going to wear her dress. That will be an abomination. Moreover, I believe the law also came to prevent the male folks in the not to wear female apparels and enter the female camp for the purpose of regulating their sexual disorderliness.
As a minister, when you see a sister wearing dress and you want share the word of God with her, will you tell her to go home and change before you minister to her. Even if you leads her Christ while wearing trouser, will tell her to go and change before you fill her with the Holy Ghost. No! You as a man can wear a trouser or anything with wrong motives. Allow the love of God to overshadow your heart because the love of God is shared abroad in our hearts by God’s Spirit. Then you will see beyond what the canal man is seeing in women wearing trousers.
As regards Christians, male or female, wearing jewelries and make up, I would want to ask you a question. After became a child of God, will you become a child of the devil if you wear jewlry or if you make up? Will God disown you? When you read 1tim2:9, what can you define to be modest. At least, it didn’t say women should not dress at all but adorn themselves in modest apparel. Your standard or definition of being modest as somebody in a remote village in Africa would definitely not be the same for somebody in oil rich Qatar, Russia, Poland, Japan or any other part of the world.
Secondly, 2Peter:3 lets us know that God has given us all things (it did say some things but all) that pertains to life and godliness. Is gold and diamond not included in all things. Silver and Gold belongs to God who hapens to be our Father. Doesn't that mean that they also belong to us? If you can aquire gold then you can wear it. The only problem is when you begin to idolize it just as some people do for their cars, houses, etc. Read Exo 12:35-36, when the Isrealites were to leave Egypt, they collected gold and other precious stones and other expensive materials, bible says that the favour of God was upon them. The problem they had was that they used it for the wrong purpose. When it was time for them to build a terbanacle what did they use, is it not the gold and other precious stones? The purpose of having them is such that when there is a need in the house of God, you easily dispose of them for that purpose or use them as seeds. Brother, that you wear them does not make you the devil, it when you serve and worship them. Like I said earlier, it is the same with your expensive car, shoes or suit. If you know who God is and who you are, then you will see that you are bigger than them. Jesus didn’t die for them but for you. They are meant for you to serve God. Let me ask you, is there any demon is a gold, expensive house, hummer jeep, limousine, if not, Then it can be yours and you can do whatever it pleases you as long as the purpose is not evil. As a child, you live for God, so those things are for you serve God and not to satisfy the flesh.

In my opinion, yes, I would have to say that it is sinful or wrong for a Believer to wear jewelery and makeup. Ever since I first attended Christ Embassy I am sorry to say that the women dressed far to whorishly and immorally for me. I am biased because I had just come from a church where women mostly weared African attire as well as modern clothing with ankle-length skirts and dresses with traditional Church hats. My opinion is also mostly due to also attending The Chosen Charasmatic Revival Ministries pastored by Lazarus Muoka while in Lagos, Nigeria. They're they emphasized the need for women never to where jeans but only long skirts and dresses. Also, the wife of my Uncle Tony that goes there wears only long skirts and dresses. I now also take this stance on clothing due discovering the parts in the Bible wear Timothy said admirably how, "women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array" (1 Timothy 2:9 KJV). Also, there is the bible verses like, "the woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God" (Deuteronomy 22:5 KJV) and, "every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered" (1 Corinthians 11:5-6 KJV). Anybody who is conscious that God lives in them and that their body belongs to Jesus would never wear anything like jewelery or make-up (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). I suggest that if you yourself wear such attire that you stop doing so immediately not because I say so but because God does (2 Timothy 3:16).
