I'hv often heared brethren addressing their Pastors as mighty man and mighty woman. Who is a mighty man is it the Pastor, cell ldr, pcu ldr or pcf ldr or church member?. Is it proper to address yo leader as a mighty man?lets look into our bibles and come out with answers. I'll give u my answer @ last. Thank u!
You cannot call your superior Mighty Man or woman. According to Judges 6, Gideon was poor and least in His Family, he was not strong by that he was called mighty man of valour. He needed to be strengthrened. So whenyou call your leader Mighty Man you are actually saying my leader you need to be strengthred, which is not right. You can only call someone who has a lower office than yours a mightyman or woman. Not Anyone who has a higher office than you.
What then can we call those in Higher offices than ours like our Pastors, PCF, PCU leades, they are called Woman of Man of God.
i think i will agree with melody, it involves a bit of tryng to encourage and strengthen someone to bring them to a realisation of who they are. but what if i say "Mighty Man of God Pastor so and so" coz i think i've heard even Pastor Chris addresses as such? is there any thing wrong with that? taking into consideration the original meaning of the word "mighty".
I agree with Mufarotapiwa mighty ones!!!!. a mighty man or woman of God is someone who is mighty. If you are rich for example, there is nowhere you will keep quite and say " i think i am rich enough" or its for those who are poor. I am a mighty woman of God and everyone is who is reading this is mighty.
Thank you so much Bro Clive, I am also waiting for your answer but my opinion is that it is not proper to call your pastor mighty man or woman because they are of a special higher office that separates them from the other brethren. However, a mighty someone is just a person who is mighty regardless of the level at which they are exuding their quality of might, so it is for both those who are being encouraged and also those who are already acquainted of this quality.....So it's IMPROPER to call pastor mighty man, but not WRONG
