I believe in listening to gospel music that has Revelation from the Spirit of God.
gospel music that is inspired by the Spirit of GOd, not the one that the singer produced in order to get wealth or fame.
ohk, imagine me singing ""pls my heavenly father I am helpless....ooooohhh I am confused and so helpless.... I seek ur presence day and night searching for u....I need strength!!!
i am falling away hold me tight unto u ohhhhh!""
for me I dont think I would b edified wen I sing it. singing it is like confessing al the bad things happening in ur life. wen u have revelation u will sing and listen to gospel music that aligns with how much of revelation knwledge u have concerning the word of God
I think you should define what gospel is and what music is. Gospel is good news that Jesus Christ brought to us. As long as a song is consistent with what Jesus came to tell us then its cool. The other condemnation music is not gospel music. I was in a bus and they were playing a song "Hapana chandinacho mwari wangu" (I do not have anything). I saw some people in the bus really touched by this song. They were singing along. But I could not sing along to that when I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. I cannot sing such a song when "All things are mine". That is not gospel. As long as a song leaves me sad, unhappy and condemned its not gospel.....
as a born again christian, you should listen to music that tallies with your level of faith and is in tune with your spiritual wavelength.
let me use for example mathematics. there is maths for grade 1s then there is maths for grade 7 & for form fours. if u r in form 4 why do u have to seek increase from a grade 7 textbook/class. shud u b bothering with using an abacus when u shud b finding "X." And just bcoz u have passed thru grade 7 does not give u a right to condemn grade 7 material nor does it make grade 7 material inappropriate to a grade 7 pupil. 1+1 is still mathematics just as a simultaneous equation is mathematics... 1 +1 is silly to u , just like 2x + y makes no sense to a grade 7 but both of u get equal satisfaction from a correct answer.
So listen to what is appropriate for yo level of understanding and let everyone else listen to what edifies them. did u not say its gospel music?
The fact that some sing from the black book - The Bible does not make it gospel music. Gospel means good news. It's the revelation that makes the difference. There are songs that we grew up singing, so touchy and and uplifting then. But now we cant sing the same songs. They are not consistant with the word of God, in fact some are wrong confessions.
yes you can listen to any gospel music but the operative word here is Gospel, not all who say they are singing gospel actually are gospel means good news as someone has already said and it must be consistent with the Word of God i.e. any message that is consistent with the plans, purposes and provisions of God in Christ Jesus then and only then is it gospel music and any such can be listened to
Listen to anything, as long as it motivates, blesses you & its Inspirational. Some sing well but its not gospel --"Zuva parinobudaiwe richishaina neweshainawo...yange kune rima uri mwenje usazodzimawo...." ( Shine like the sun when it rises, even when its cloudy, you must keep shining) isn't it inspirational as a Burning & Shining light?? but is it gospel??
