Brother Peace, giving is good especially when it is done unto God. However, the approach or the way that giving is done is what should be looked at keenly. Let us look at this very carefully; the brother took the other's things without telling him. This can be classified as stealing, even though the things were used or taken to the right place.
Definition of Stealing: Macmillan Dictionary
In Romans 14:13 the bible says "...Make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way". Actions like this even though they seem right in some people's eyes, can be an obstacle or hindrance to others and we need to be careful.
What Should I Do
Since the items are no more under my care but under the custody of the church through pastor, It will depend on what my pastor will say after explaining everything to him. If he says that I should be given my items back and I sincerely need them I will take them back, but if he advices that it is not right to take them based on the wisdom of God at work in him, I will also respect and obey that (I will not take them back). Brother Peace, there are protocols everywhere, even in the house of God. Whether the items are taken back or not is not really the big challenge, but things must be done right. There are a lot of factors in play in this case and we can not overlook them;
After the items have gotten to the church even though they are mine, there is a wise way to go about everything. I might come with the idea of taking my items but after Pastor's counsel, I change my mind and leave them. So brother Peace, with me it will really depend on what pastor's counsel will be on this matter.
What if a son also picks dad's car and hands over the key to pastor after the service for the car to be sold and the money used as a seed for ROGHA? Will dady come for the car? wow! wow! Thanks.
