Thought For Today: Synchronizing Yourself With God’s Purpose Through Prayer

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18).

Some people only pray when they’re compelled to do so by certain challenges they face in life, and that’s not right. As Christians we’re called into fellowship with our heavenly Father. So for us, prayer is more than just an opportunity to get God to do something for us; it’s a fellowship, a time to commune with God and synchronise yourself with His purpose for your life daily. This is the reason you must give more time and attention to prayer.

The more time you spend in fellowship with the Lord through prayer, the more His character and personality are revealed in, and through you; you’ll find yourself thinking His thoughts and functioning always in the centre of His will. The man who prays lives with a pure heart towards all men; he doesn’t talk, reason, act or see like an ordinary man. He doesn’t criticize others as he sees only the good in them. He may be quiet but spiritual efficiency is reflected in his lifestyle, and people are drawn to him.

A prayerful Christian intercedes for others. He thinks the best of others and he’s ever willing to pray for their spiritual development and other concerns. He’s selfless, full of compassion and manifests the glory of God always because he sees the needs of others and reaches out to meet them. On the other hand, a Christian who doesn’t give time and attention to prayer is just the opposite. Criticisms, complains, confusion together with lack of ideas are evident in his life.

Praying, and praying the right way is an important activity in the life of every Christian. It makes a Christian’s life beautiful, vibrant and very exciting because of its attendant results. I urge you today to take your personal times of prayer, devotions and meditation this month very seriously. You must give ample time and take advantage of the opportunities in the course of your day to fellowship with the Lord through prayer. Ensure that you participate fully in the global prayer sessions at 12noon and 10pm local times, and watch your life flourish from glory to glory this month and beyond! Praise the Lord!

i went for second service on Sunday and I have my choice sit but that day my spirit didn't want me to sit there,so I choose another place.

BEfore I knew it pastor said the first three roles should come and sit on the altar.

i Was shaking under the anointing I was in another heavenly realm immediately.

do you know what it means?

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6).

In 1 Samuel 2:9 the Bible says "…for by strength shall no man prevail." That means no one makes it in life by sheer muscles or human ability. You can’t function by your own human strength, wisdom and intelligence and expect to achieve much. You can only make real impact and achieve incontrovertible success when you function with the ability of the Spirit.

Knowing this, the Apostle Paul declared in 2 Corinthians 3:5 (AMP): "Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments {or} to claim {or} count anything as coming from us, but our power {and} ability {and} sufficiency are from God." When you function by the ability of the Spirit, you’ll never be at your wit’s end. You’ll never run out of power or the divine might to accomplish whatever task you have ahead of you.

Zerubbabel had a lot to accomplish for the Lord, but knew he couldn’t do the work with his human ability. Therefore, the Lord told the prophet Zechariah to give him the message: "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit." Now, he wasn’t telling Zerubbabel to just sit back and let the Spirit move him. Rather, he wanted him to function with the ability of the Spirit in accomplishing the work.

This was the secret to the success recorded by the Apostles in the Early Church as they carried out God’s work; they functioned by the power of the Spirit. The Apostle Paul, for one, made copious references to the ability of God’s Spirit in him. In Colossians 1:29, he said, "Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." He knew there was something energizing him from within: it was the power of the Spirit. No wonder he said, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13).

Recognize the working of the Spirit in you. That consciousness will produce a divine force that’ll propel you to accomplish things supernaturally: at your work, school, home, in your finances, physical body, and in every area of your life. Halleluiah.

Confession

I’m energized for victory and positioned for the transcendent life by the Spirit of God who lives in me! By Him, I labour, striving according to the working of His power that works within me mightily. I’m excelling in every area of my life, because the competence and excellence by which I function is by the Spirit.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen (2 Corinthians 13:14).

This verse lets us know what we can enjoy from God (the love of God), what we can enjoy from Jesus (the grace of Jesus Christ), and what we can enjoy from the Holy Spirit (the communion of the Holy Spirit). God the Father already proved His love in sending Jesus Christ to die that we may live. The grace of Jesus Christ, on the other hand, has been poured out on us through His death for us. We now enjoy that grace in its fullness (John 1:16-17); there couldn’t be anything better than what He (His grace) already accomplished for us on the cross of Calvary.

However, there’s something that continues: "the communion of the Holy Spirit." This refers to the partnership, communication, or fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It includes talking with the Holy Spirit; yielding to His Lordship and guidance; sharing our thoughts with Him, and receiving His thoughts through the Word.

The kind of relationship we’re to cultivate with the Holy Spirit is one of communion; a sharing together. The Father and the Son are in heaven, but the Holy Spirit lives in us, fostering this extraordinary communion with divinity. He’s the one that makes the presence of the Father and the presence of Jesus real to you such that wherever you are, you experience the divine presence. God doesn’t "go" from you, or "come" to you; you’re in Him, and He’s in you, by the Holy Spirit.

Develop an intimate relationship with Him by communing with Him constantly in prayer, and through meditation on the Word. Consult with Him for answers and direction always. When you face challenges that seem insurmountable, commune with Him, and He’ll show you what to do. No one but He can give you prefect counsel and guidance in life.

Confession

I know that I’ll never walk in darkness, confusion or uncertainty because I’m in fellowship with the Holy Spirit; He’s my light, and the One who teaches me in the way that I should go, guiding me in the path of God’s perfect will! Amen.
