For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12

What good attentions are you in your heart?

PASTOR CHRIS

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

(Hebrews 4:2)

One time, the Lord rebuked the Pharisees and the Scribes because they had made the Word of God  to have no effect by reason of their traditions: “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye” (Mark 7:13). The same Word they nullified, made void and rendered ineffective created the entire universe: “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:3). The Word is what upholds, maintains, guides, and propels the universe; it’s the force that keeps everything in its course (Hebrews 1:3).

“How come this all-powerful and creative Word didn’t work for the Pharisees and Scribes back then, as it’s the case with some today, whose lives are at variance with the Word?” The simple answer is recorded in our opening verse; observe it again: “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” You’ll have to always create the right environment of faith for the Word to thrive and yield fruits in your life.

It’s like planting an orange seed in the right environment. Soon enough, it’ll germinate into an orange tree and produce fruits. Same way, the environment you need for the Word to be productive in you and for you is the environment of faith. The Bible says “…without faith it is impossible to please him…” (Hebrews 11:6). If you mix the Word with faith, it doesn’t matter what comes against you, you’ll come out victorious. God’s Word is absolutely trustworthy and dependable. The Word on your lips, mixed with faith will produce undeniable results.

The Word of God doesn’t consider the size of the problem, neither is it intimidated by the name of the sickness or disease. It has no restrictions; all it requires is for you to believe and boldly speak it forth in faith, and it will effect a change.

CONFESSION

The Word of God on my lips is operative and effective today because it’s mixed with faith! I declare with boldness and authority that every crooked path has been made straight before me. I go forth with joy, and am led forth with peace! The mountains and the hills break forth before me into singing, and all the trees of the field clap their hands because I’m the blessed of the Lord!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. - Corinthians 13:4-7

For you, what is love?

Moses Mine

PERFECT LOVE

Posted by Moses Mine Mar 30, 2012
The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love-so you can't know him if you don't love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about-not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God. My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us-perfect love!

PASTOR ANITA

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.

(Galatians 5:22)

Observe that the verse above doesn’t say “But the fruits of the spirit are…” rather, it’s specific. It says, “the fruit of the spirit is love…,” letting you know that love is the dominant fruit of the recreated human spirit. Being born again, you’re born of God, who is love (1 John 4:8); therefore you have His love-nature, meaning it’s natural for you to walk in love. Our Kingdom is a kingdom ruled by love.

1 John 3:14 says “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” This verse brings to mind what Jesus said in John 13:35: “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” The Master makes it clear that love is all that counts. Your expression of love for the Lord and to those for whom Jesus died is proof that you’re indeed a child of God. Jesus said in John 14:15 “If you love me, keep my words”; and His Word says to love and do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith—your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ (Galatians 6:10).

Love, though not an outward sign, is demonstrated on the outside; it’s got to be expressed: “…let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but indeed and in truth” (1John 3:18). Your maturity as a Christian is measured by your love-walk; the love of God that you express to others. The Bible says “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law” (Romans 13:8-10).

Oftentimes, people overlook what the Word says about love, not realizing that love is the fulfilment of the Law; it’s the principle by which we live in our Kingdom. So you must let the love of God flow out freely through you at all times. Let your words, thoughts and actions be love-motivated, because only such receive God’s blessings and approval.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m glad that I belong to your glorious Kingdom where love, righteousness and peace reign. I rejoice exceedingly for the great love with which you’ve loved me, and for teaching me to express your love that’s in my spirit to those around me. Thank you for perfecting your love in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

If he or she does not care for your soul, he or she is not your soul mate. How do you know if you already found "the one"?

PASTOR CHRIS

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

(John 1:14)

The Word of God is truth; that means it’s absolute reality! When you study the Word, you receive something much more than inspiration; you receive divine light, insight and wisdom to cause you to function in sync with God’s perfect will for your life. Also, the Word of God has the ability to transform you and make you what it talks about. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

We see the glory of God by beholding the mirror of God, which is the Word of God. As you look at the glory of God in the mirror of God, you’re changed into the same glory that you see in the Word. That means the more you look—meditate or contemplate the glory of God—in the Word of God, the more you become the glory that you see.

John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” Besides giving the Word of God personality, we also observe in this scripture that the Word of God has glory. Notice it says, “…we beheld his glory…” because the Word is a person; He’s glory-personified. Glory is splendor, brightness, beauty, holiness, and purity. The Word of God has all these and much more. Now you can better understand why the Bible refers to Jesus—the Word of God as the brightness of God’s glory—the effulgence and out-shining of His glory.

Jesus is the expression of the glory of God; God gave Him that excellent glory which He in turn gave to us. We have become sharers of His glory: “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one” (John 17:22). As He (Jesus) is the glory of God, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). There’s glory in your life; it’s the glory of the Word; walk in the light of that glory.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word that’s a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. As I contemplate the glory of God in the mirror by meditation, I’m metamorphosed into that same image of glory that I see in the Word. My life is full of glory, grace and truth because I’m the offspring of the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whom shall ever believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

How do you show your beliefs daily?

PASTOR CHRIS

But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

(Matthew 23:11)

Have you ever wondered why Jesus once described John the Baptist as the greatest of all born of women? The Bible tells us that one day, John’s disciples came to him and said, “Rabbi, the man you met at the other side of the Jordan River, the one you identified as the Messiah is also baptizing people. And everybody is going to him, instead of coming to us” (John 3:26 NLT).

John’s reply was: “...A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:27-30). This is the attitude of greatness in the sight of the Lord.

In today’s society, everyone wants to be the boss. But you don’t have to be that way because you belong in the Kingdom of God. Consider John’s response again; he understood his purpose as the forerunner of the Lord, so he never tried to get into a tussle for power or a popularity contest with Jesus. Even when his disciples asked a rather provocative question, he told them how glad he was to fulfil his purpose. That’s the secret of greatness; knowing your purpose in God and fulfilling it.

Your greatness in the Kingdom of God is not according to assignment, but according to the fulfilment of whatever you’re told to do. Let this be what matters to you—fulfilling your purpose in Christ—being great before God, and not in the sight of men. Just like the Apostle Paul, you must know your peculiar course and know when you’re running your race, and when you have completed it (2 Timothy 4:7 NIV).

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the unique purpose for which you have created me. I’m excited about your will and purpose for my life, and I declare that by the help of your Spirit, I’m fulfilling your divine purpose for my life without reproach, but with joy unspeakable and humility of heart, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Fear says you cannot but faith says you can!  How do you trust faith?

PASTOR ANITA

So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

(Acts 19:20)

In Acts 19, we read about how the city of Ephesus had been completely given to idolatry, but as the Word of God was preached with great power, the entire city was thoroughly impacted. The Gospel spread rapidly and prevailed, until it gained governing and controlling influence. The more the people of that city heard it, the more it gained the dominion in their lives.

This is the prevailing power of the Word; it can gain the dominance and mastery over any individual, city, nation or situation. It prevails over sickness, poverty and the negative circumstances of life. Our opening scripture is similar to what the Apostle John said in 1 John 5:4 about the Word: “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Notice he used the term “whatsoever.” This is because it’s not just dealing with humanity or personalities, but whatever proceeds from God—such as His Word—overcomes the world.

That’s why you must never be discouraged or defeated, because you’re born of the Word (1 Peter 1:23), and everything that’s connected to you takes root from the Word. Being born of the Word makes you impregnable.

The Word of God in you—in your heart and on your lips will grow mightily and prevail over all the nagativities of life. Proclaim the Word today and experience victory in your finances, health, academics and family! Declare the Word against sickness, insecurity and harsh economic conditions, and there’ll be a change, for the Word has power. The Word of God is your weapon for waging war against the adversary. The Bible says it’s “sharper than any two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12). That means you can use the Word to cut in pieces whatever comes against your faith.

PRAYER

Dear Father, you’ve given me life through your Word. Your glory is manifested in everything I do because the ministry of the Word is effective in my life. I thank you for the prevailing power of your Word and it’s ability to effect changes in my life, and in the circumstances around me.

When you are worried what do you do?  Sit back, relax and have faith as God will do the job.

How do you trust God?

PASTOR CHRIS

According to his usual habit Paul went to the synagogue. There during three Sabbaths he held discussions with the people…

(Acts 17:2 GNB)

There’re some people who may be unhappy with how their lives have turned because of bad habits they had practised through the years. There’s no need for you to be frustrated with yourself or with life because of certain unwholesome habits you’ve been battling with. The first thing to realize is that those habits didn’t form overnight. Habits are simply repeated actions that condition behaviour. If you’d replace that old habit with a better one, you’d get rid of the one you don’t like.

A habit is an established pattern of behaviour acquired through frequent repetition. Anything you do consistently and repeatedly over time becomes a habit. At first, you consciously or unconsciously create your habits, but eventually your habits will form your character, and influence your behavioural pattern, making you the product of your habits.

The Bible says sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14); so refuse to allow any negative habit control you. If for example, someone has formed a habit of lying, what such a person needs is to decide to consciously tell the truth. The beautiful thing is it wouldn’t take long before such a negative habit is completely eradicated. It has been said that anything you do six times consecutively, in the same way, will get into your personality and shape your behavioural pattern.

If for example, you desire to cultivate a habit of waking up to pray every day by six am, if you can consistently do it six days of the week in a row, it’ll become a habit for you! Whatever godly habit you want to imbibe is possible; all it takes is the discipline and stick-ability.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the liberty and ability to live to my highest potentials in Christ! Through the power of the Holy Spirit and influence of God’s Word, my character is being formed to be in sync with God’s perfect will and eternal purpose for my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Give some of that weight where it belongs, - to God, and have faith that what happens is for the best, whether you understand it or not.

How does God help you realize what is right and what is wrong?

PASTOR CHRIS

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name from the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

(Revelation 3:5)

In the scripture above, Jesus spoke to the seven churches and said, “He that overcometh….” You might ask “What does the Lord want us to overcome? Is it the devil, the world, or the flesh?” Well, neither of these three, and I’ll explain.

Jesus already defeated Satan and the cohorts of darkness on your behalf. In Luke 10:18-19, after the seventy disciples Jesus sent out to heal and preach returned, He said, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven….” The Apostle Paul relayed a graphic illustration of the victory of Jesus over Satan and the cohorts of hell: “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15).

The Lord Jesus dispossessed Satan of his authority, rendered him powerless and gave us the victory! Therefore, Satan doesn’t have any right over the world today, neither does he have the power to run your life. All you have to do is enforce your victory; that’s the context in which the word “overcome” is used in our opening verse. It signifies a fight of faith, not a fight with the devil, your flesh, or the world: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life whereunto thou art also called and has professed a good profession before many witnesses” (1Timothy 6:12).

As for the world, in John 16:33 Jesus said, “…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” We have therefore overcome the world in Christ. This means you don’t have to try to overcome the world or the flesh; rather, you’re to live beyond the flesh by walking in the Spirit! That means walking in the light of God’s Word, in spite of sensory perception.

Appropriate, and lay hold of, the victories Jesus already wrought and accomplished for you through your faith-filled declarations. It may be in your job, finances, health or family; refuse to accept failure. Keep declaring your victory and you’ll have them established for you.

CONFESSION

I’m what God says I am; a victor, an overcomer and more than a conqueror! Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I keep the devil and his cohorts where they belong—under my feet; and I live perpetually in victory, health and success in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The best revenge is just moving on and getting over it. Don't give someone the satisfaction of watching you suffer.

Where do you get strength to move on?  What would Jesus want you to do?

PASTOR ANITA

…There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

(Proverbs 18:24b)

In this world, we all have friends—people we relate with, talk with, share with, pray and play with, and whose company we enjoy. But even the best of friends may sometimes let you down or disappoint you in your hour of need; not because they want to, but because they may be unavailable, or not have the right words to say to you at the time. Then of course, it’s possible for them to get tired of your “issues” and eventually give up on you, because they feel you aren’t going to change.

But there’s a friend that’ll never let you down. He’ll never disappoint, fail, or give up on you! He’s never tired of you, His Name is Jesus. Those who know Jesus as a friend don’t seek the help or favour of men! What you need is to have a private, personal relationship with Him. And you don’t need to go looking for Him, for He lives in you! You can talk with Him, and He will talk to you. He is inside you, yet He is with you. He can talk to you inside you, and also talk to you from the outside! He’s the dearest friend you could ever have, and He has the wisdom and ability to see you through the most difficult situations.

The Bible says “…He (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). He’ll go any length to help you. He already proved it through His death for you on the cross. He’ll never give up on you or condemn you! Let Him be your closest friend; don’t be ashamed to identify yourself with Him for He loves you exceedingly. He’ll never be ashamed of you and He will ALWAYS be there for you, even to the end of the world (Matthew 28:20). Start each day by saying “I love you today, Lord Jesus.” Develop that relationship with Him through His Word and the Holy Ghost.

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, you’re the dearest friend I could ever know. No one can love me, believe in me and care for me the way you do! You’re my best friend and the object of my deepest affection. I love you with all of my heart, and desire to know and love you more and more each day. Thank you for being my Lord, Master, and friend. Amen.

PASTOR CHRIS

Yet wisdom is vindicated (shown to be true and divine) by all her children [by their life, character, and deeds].

(Luke 7:35 AMP)

Wisdom is the manifestation or revelation of the rightness of God in a human life; it’s a force that causes you to act, respond or speak beyond natural human reasoning. It’s also the expression of the power of God in thought, plans, purpose and decision-making. When the wisdom of God functions in you, it becomes the power that influences your choices in life; it becomes the guiding force of your life. Wisdom propels you in the right direction, and positions you in the place of advantage.

Genesis 39 tells the story of how Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers. But the Bible says he found grace in the sight of Potiphar, his master and served him: “…and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand” (Genesis 39:4). In the course of time, however, Joseph was imprisoned because his master’s wife accused him falsely. But wisdom promoted him, and gave him the advantage, such that even while in prison, he became the head of the prisoners.

For some time, it seemed that would be the end of the story. Then one night, Pharaoh had a dream that none of his magicians could interpret. Someone remembered the wise Hebrew prisoner and recommended him to Pharaoh. Joseph was brought before Pharaoh, and he interpreted Pharaoh’s dream. When Joseph was done speaking, Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou…See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:38-41).

The Egyptian empire was preserved by the wisdom of one young man, Joseph. If wisdom could promote a thirty-year-old Hebrew prisoner to become Prime Minister of the most powerful empire at the time, overnight, it can do so much for you. Exalt wisdom; give him the deserved attention, the utmost priority and importance, and he will promote and bring you to honour and glory.

CONFESSION

I speak the wisdom of God in every situation because Christ has been made unto me wisdom. I’m circumspect, sound and have quick understanding! I deal wisely in the affairs of life today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Do you think it is right for us to judge others?  What does God say about judging?

PASTOR CHRIS

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness .

(Acts 4:31)

When it comes to making your faith proclamations, you don’t have to be apologetic; be bold! When you boldly proclaim what you already believe in your heart, it strengthens your spirit, and causes the Word to be active in your life. With your mouth you change your estate. The first is a foundation, which makes the second a reality, but your condition will be the same if you don’t voice your believing.

Believing what God says and confessing the same will change your life. This is because there’s power in the Word, which gives the ability to change hopeless situations and cause circumstances to conform with God’s plans and purposes when applied. God created the world by His spoken Word. He said “Let there be...” (Genesis 1:3, 6, 14), and everything He commanded came to be. Hebrews 13:5-6 says “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say….” He shows us the principle of proclaiming the Word in faith—with boldness!

Jesus taught the same principle in Mark 11:23: “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Is there any challenging situation you might be facing today?  Proclaim the Word boldly in faith, and there’ll be a change. What you say is what you get, so proclaim the Word and create the realities you want to see in your life.

PRAYER

I receive the blessings of the Spirit through the Word into my life today, as I proclaim God’s Word in faith. My mind is renewed, and my life transformed by the inherent power of the Word. I’m growing in grace and increasing in wisdom, with circumstances turned around for my good, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

(Psalm 119:105)

Life is filled with choices and decisions that you must make; and in making those choices and decisions you can’t afford to be wrong or play the guessing-game. You need proper guidance, which only God’s Word can provide. God’s Word is the true Light that lights every man that comes into the world (John 1:9); it’s the true light with which you navigate your way through life.

Hebrews 4:12-13 highlights the power and efficacy of God’s Word, as well as its functionality as light, and attribute as a person: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” In other words, the Word of God knows everything; it touches every subject in life and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart.

No one can know what’s true or real except through the light of God’s Word, for the Word is truth (John 17:17), and truth means reality. Therefore, seeing with the true light means seeing from the perspective of God’s Word; interpreting situations, circumstances and the conditions of your life from the standpoint of the Word.

If the true Light—God’s Word—dwells in you richly, as admonished in Colossians 3:16, fear, failure, lack, sickness and all other results of darkness won’t have any place in you. You won’t be defeated because you’ll see that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You’ll refuse to be sick, because through the light of God’s Word, you’ll see that divine health is your present-hour possession and right in Christ. Let your outlook on life be from the Word’s perspective, and you’ll have a clear direction in life.

If today there seems to be darkness in any area of your life, perhaps in your family, health, academics or business, take a hold of God’s Word and the darkness will disappear. The solution to darkness is light, and God’s Word is Light.

CONFESSION

The Word of God is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path; I have the light of life and function with the true Light because I’m born of God’s Word, which is Light! I know, and walk in my inheritance in Christ Jesus because I live and see only with the true Light.

God's love is one greatest feelings and gifts in thee world.

How do you feel it day in and day out?

PASTOR CHRIS

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye .

(Psalm 32:8)

The Holy Spirit can tell you what to do in every situation for you to always win in life. Many are frustrated because they never consult with Him for help, guidance, or direction. They’d rather go to a relative or friend for help when they’re in trouble. Sadly, those they meet for help only provide them counsel based on human reasoning and sense knowledge; and that doesn’t work!

Learn to consult with the Holy Spirit for answers. Ask Him for guidance and direction concerning everything you do. When you face challenges that seem insurmountable, call on Him, and He’ll tell you what to do; He’ll give you the strategies to employ. The great men and women we read about in Scriptures understood this truth, which was why they never took a major step until they had consulted with the Lord.

Joshua, for one, had to rely on the Holy Spirit to tell Him how to take over Jericho: “And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come.  And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, what saith my lord unto his servant?” (Joshua 5:13-14).The Captain of the Lord’s host referred to above is the Holy Spirit. He gave Joshua a strategy no human thinking could have reasoned out. No human mind could have thought of bringing down those monstrous walls of Jericho just by blowing trumpets and having the people shout and praise God. But the Holy Ghost said so and it happened just that way. The Bible says, “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down...” (Hebrews 11:30).

Learn to trust the Holy Spirit; depend on Him at all times, for He’s with you, in you and for you! He’ll teach you, lead you and guide you into victory in everything you do, if you’d only ask Him.

PRAYER

Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for leading me in the path of victory and success always. I know I’ll never walk in darkness, confusion or uncertainty because you’re my light. I love and appreciate you dearly, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

In all thy ways acknowledge God, and he shall direct thy paths.Proverbs 3:6

How do you keep your path straight?

PASTOR CHRIS

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

(John 16:23)

Jesus’ teaching on prayer in our opening scripture emphasizes a new order in prayer. First, the Master refers to a new day—the day of salvation—where you’ll pray directly to the Father in His Name; standing in His stead. This was before His death, burial and ressurection. Thus, the salvation, which could only be effective after His ressurection had not been consumated. So when He said, “…in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you” He was talking about the day of the Church; after His resurrection.

In spite of this, many still ignorantly petition Jesus when they pray. When you listen to the content of their prayer, you’ll hear “Lord Jesus, I ask that you grant such-and-such in the Name of Jesus.” According to the teachings of Jesus, it’s wrong to pray that way. For example, the ambassador of a country doesn’t function in that office in his home country. His job is to operate on behalf of the government of his country in the place of assignment—in another country.

In the same way, it will be wrong to pray to Jesus in His Name. You stand in His stead, with the power of attorney to use His Name and make a demand of the Father. So you don’t pray to Him or through Him but in His Name. That’s why He said “Go in my Name!” You might say, “But I prayed to Jesus and got results!” Well, that’s because you’re a babe in the things of God; after a while, God expects you to mature. In Acts 17:30, the Bible tells us: “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.” When you pray in the Name of Jesus, you stand in His place and become His voice; it’s as though Jesus Himself were asking. Thus, whatever demands you make of the Father will be granted you.

If you have a request to make of the Father and you want that request granted, do it in the Name of Jesus, not to Jesus or through Jesus. That’s the new and right order in prayer for the new creation.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for granting me direct access into your presence to ask and receive from you, so that my joy may be full. I’m grateful for your immeasurable love and kindness to us in Christ Jesus, and to know I can always receive answers, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

We are all meant to be honest.  How do you show your honesty day in and day out?

PASTOR ANITA

For many are called, but few are chosen.

(Matthew 22:14)

When Jesus said many are called but few are chosen, some believe He meant, “...many are called to be Christians but only a few will be chosen to go to heaven.” That’s not true. The call being made is the call of salvation to the whole world; that Jesus has died and risen for everyone. Those who believe and are saved are the chosen ones, the “ecclesia”—the called-out ones; who have been sanctified and separated from the world unto God.

The day you gave your heart to Christ you were separated from the world. The Lord Jesus, while talking about you in John 15:19, said, “...ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world....” In other words, you’ve been called out or chosen out of the evil and decay that exist in the world to a life of purpose, victory, and success. This choice was made before the foundations of the earth: “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love” (Ephesians 1:4).

The Lord chose you to be holy and without blame before Him in love; He did this before you were born again. Accept this truth and never think you’re not good enough for God. He chose you before you knew Him. He knew all the mistakes you would ever make and still chose you, to reveal His glory through you. Jesus said, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain...” (John 15:16).

Don’t allow guilt-consciousness rob you of your special place in God; you’re the chosen of the Lord, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.

PRAYER

I thank you Lord for choosing me out of this world and separating me unto the life of purpose, victory, glory, and success! I thank you for accepting me in the beloved and manifesting yourself to me and through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God is a generous God and we should learn to appreciate His blessings.

What blessing do you really appreciate?

PASTOR CHRIS

And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

(Mark 16:17-18)

In our opening scripture Jesus describes a peculiar breed of supermen—the new creations in Christ Jesus—that’s us! We’re the impregnable breed. We have the power to cast out devils, speak with new tongues, take up serpents, and if we drink any deadly thing, we remain unscathed. These are the signs by which we’re recognized.

Acts 27-28 gives credence to the underlined portion of our opening text. The Apostle Paul with two hundred and seventy-six other passengers were journeying on a ship to Rome, but they found themselves on the Island of Malta because their ship had broken apart due to the stormy weather. While the natives of that island built a huge bonfire to keep them warm against the cold, Paul pitched in and helped.

Act 28:3-5 says: “And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand…And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.” A venomous snake bit Paul, and its deadly venom had no impact on him! He merely shook it into the fire and kept on with what he was doing.

The man in Christ is a new creation; thus, he’s unassailable—immune to attacks and incapable of being overcome by the enemy. If everyone around him was “catching the flu,” he would remain unflustered because the life in him cannot be infected by any deadly thing—poison, sickness, disease or infirmity!

Christ in you makes you impregnable to all the attacks and machinations of the evil one. That’s why Jesus said in Luke 10:19 that nothing shall by any means hurt you! The life in you makes you superior to Satan, and secures you against sickness, disease, infirmity, defeat and failure.

CONFESSION

I’m a new creation in Christ Jesus; I have the life of God in me! I’m superior to satan, and I’ve overcome the world. I am seated together with Christ in the heavenly realms, far above all principality and power, where I reign and rule as a king in this life.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. 1 Timothy 2:5-6

How do you feel about it?

PASTOR CHRIS

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

(John 10:27)

You may ask: “How do I discern and hearken to the voice of the Holy Spirit?” If as a Christian, you find it difficult to discern the voice of the Spirit, it’s not because His voice is weak when He speaks. It’s because you haven’t trained your spirit to discern His voice. It’s possible to train yourself to discern the voice of the Spirit, and here are a few thoughts that’ll help you.

First, you must develop a voracious appettite for the Word. Study the Word and know it for yourself. The voice of God’s Spirit is made known to you through the written Word. Secondly, train your spirit to respond to God by acting on the Word quickly. When you receive instructions or counsel from God’s Word, don’t delay; act quickly. That’s learning to train your spirit.

Thirdly, praying according to God’s Word is very vital. Prayer helps your spirit to become a dependable receptacle of God’s ideas, visions and promptings. Pray mostly with the spirit, in other tongues. The more you do, the more sensitive your spirit will be to His voice.

Finally, desire spiritual things—things that matter to God—from your heart and pursue them. The proof of desire is pursuit. Engage yourself with activities that’ll edify your spirit such as soul winning, participation in church meetings and services etc. Commit your resources; time, money and attention to the things that matter to God.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the vital union I have with you. The Bible declares that anyone who’s joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. I am one spirit with you; therefore I’m able to hear and understand your words, and I give no place to the flesh, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Rhapsody Of Realities

Ephesians 2:8-9

Posted by Rhapsody Of Realities Mar 15, 2012

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9

What gift are you most thankful of?

PASTOR ANITA

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

(2 Corinthians 3:18)

In Exodus 34:28, we find an interesting account of how Moses was in the presence of God for forty days and forty nights where he received the Ten Commandments. Ordinarily, it wouldn’t have taken a whole day to receive the Ten Commandments since it consisted of just few sentences. So why did Moses need to be in the presence of God for forty days and forty nights to receive the Ten Commandments?

For Moses, it was more than Ten Commandments. As he listened to God speak forth those commandments, all he could see was the glory of God. He contemplated and meditated on the “doxa” (the glory) of God, until the glory so rubbed-off on him and began to radiate from his face. Such was the radiance of glory emanating from his face that the people withdrew when they saw him step down from Mount Sinai (2 Corinthians 3:7). It’s important to note that this glory came on Moses while he meditated on the Ten Commandments.

Now, the Bible lets us know that the glory of God that was on the face of Moses resides in us, and that glory far exceeds what Moses had. It’s called the more excellent glory: “For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth” (2 Corinthians 3:9-10).

This inherent glory in us is what the Apostle Paul referenced in our opening scripture. He lets us know that as we behold the glory of God in the Word of God, we’re metamorphosed; we’re transfigured into the same glory that we see in the Word. This means we’re not only the carriers or effulgence of God’s glory; we are the glory of God!

CONFESSION

The glory of God is risen upon me, and I manifest that glory today, everywhere I go. The power, beauty, and excellence of God are revealed through me to my world, as I walk worthy of the Lord, displaying the wonderful deeds and perfections of Him who has called me out of darkness unto glory and virtue.

O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalms 107:1 -- At this moment, what are you most thankful for?

PASTOR CHRIS

Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.

(Ephesians 3:13-16)

Notice the Apostle Paul’s construction in the verse above. He used the words “strengthened” and “might.” Might is from the Greek “dunamei,” meaning miracle-working ability; while strengthened is “krataiothenai” meaning invigorated. So Paul’s prayer above is for you to have a “power transfusion” whereby you’re invigorated by the Holy Spirit!

Being imbued with such power, weakness or failure can’t be a part of your life. There’re some Christians today who are weak spiritually; they’re afraid and unable to make serious decisions in life. There’re even others who are broken, dejected and sickly because they have not taken a hold of health from within. The opening scripture shows that God wants you to be tough inside by having your spirit transfused with His miracle working ability. That means you have to consciouly pray the words in the opening verse for yourself.

Your outward appearance doesn’t matter. Someone may look at you and call you weak; but say, “I know who I am; I’m strong inside, because I’ve been transfused with the miracle-working ability of the Spirit.” Never let fear express itself through you. You can declare right now, “I’m invigorated with miracle-working power by the Holy Ghost, and His power is manifested through me today.”

PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank you for granting me according to the riches of your glory, to be strengthened with might by your Spirit in my inner man. I declare that I’m strong in the Lord and in the power of His might today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

How does a person achieve salvation?

PASTOR CHRIS

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

(2 Corinthians 6:16)

A careful reading of our opening scripture would reveal that God in fact lives in your physical body. It says, “…ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and will walk in them….” Notice God’s choice of words; He said, “I will dwell in them,” that means settle down in them! He’s talking about setting up His headquarters in you. However, what I’ll like you to particularly take note of is the phrase “walk in them.” Walk here is the Greek word “emperipateo” and it means to perambulate.

To perambulate means to walk up and down the bounds of a property in a supervisory manner. It refers to an official assigned to the border, who keeps moving up and down that border, looking to see if anything has gone wrong so he can fix and replace any damaged parts or notify of any trouble. In other words, God, through the Holy Spirit perambulates in you!

Now, if He’s perambulating in you, then where is the border? Your body of course! His work in perambulating in you is to ensure that anything that goes wrong in your body is fixed. If it needs to be renewed, He’ll renew it. Hallelujah! He’s perambulating in your body to keep it perfect; that’s part of His work and ministry in your life.

You may ask: “So why am I in this condition if the Holy Spirit has this ministry in me? Why is my body ravaged with sickness?” The answer is simple; it’s because you haven’t given Him liberty to function in your life; you haven’t activated His power in your life. You can activate that power today through faith in the Word of God, and speaking in other tongues.

Become conscious that the Holy Spirit lives in you in all His power, therefore, no sickness or disease can thrive in your body, which is His temple. His presence in you and with you, shields you against the vices of the evil one.

PRAYER

I thank you, blessed Father, for blessing me with your Word and with the Holy Spirit today. By virtue of the indwelling and abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in me, I’m infused with supernatural ability and wisdom to live triumphantly today and always, over and above all situations, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Rhapsody Of Realities

Colossians 3:2

Posted by Rhapsody Of Realities Mar 12, 2012

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2-- How do you focus your eyes on God alone?

PASTOR ANITA

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

(Psalm 1:1-3)

How prosperous do you want to be? How glorious do you want your life to be? If you’d delight yourself in the Lord, and meditate on His words regularly or frequently, you’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water! You’ll bring forth fruit in due season; your leaves will not wither; and you’ll prosper in ALL things!

Isaiah 58:14 says, “Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” You delight yourself in the Lord by joyfully acting on the Word and living by it!

Meditation on the Word is God’s recipe for success. It’s the secret to a victorious, successful, struggle-free life and extraordinary prosperity. The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy to give himself totally to the Word: “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 Timothy 4:15). He knew if he meditated on the Word long enough, the necessary result would be that his profiting—his prosperity and increase—would appear to all men.

The man Isaac was one of those in the Bible who walked in tremendous prosperity. But when you study his life, you would discover he was a spiritually minded man who spent a great deal of time meditating. The Bible says Isaac went out to the field in the evening to meditate (Genesis 24:63). That was the secret behind his prosperity. Meditation will give you good success! It will make you wise in your dealings in business, finances, family, relationships, and other areas of life.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I live in your Word, by your Word, and through your Word today, assured of total prosperity and increasing grace as I delight myself in you! I thank you for leading me always to triumph as you guide me in the path of ever-increasing glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Counting on God

Posted by Rhapsody Of Realities Mar 11, 2012

How do you count on God even when you don't see Him?

PASTOR CHRIS

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

(Romans 10:9)

At the beginning of the year, the Lord gave us a theme for the year. He said “2012 is the year of the Word of God.” This means it’s a special year of experiencing the dominion and Lordship of the Word of God in your life like never before. You’ll literally relate with Him—the Word—as a person and have the Word manifested through you, for you and in you. This will be your experience as you yield to the Lordship of the Word, and let the Word take centre-stage in your life. This will cause you to walk in blessings, miracles, signs and wonders.

There’re certain fundamentals you must take into consideration to function in a level where the Word of God is Lord over everything that concerns you. First, you’ve got to know the Word and let it guide your thoughts, words and all that you do. One way to ensure this is to take your fellowship with the Word seriously—your personal times of study, and fellowship with other believers at your local assembly—where you’re taught God’s Word.

Secondly, you must meditate on, and digest the Word into your spirit; keep it in your heart and in your mouth. Through meditation, the Word mingles with your spirit, causing you to become the expression of what it says.

The great benefits of conscious and continual meditation on the Word are outlined for us in Joshua 1:8: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Through meditation you bring yourself under the influence and Lordship of the Word. The Word on your lips is the sword of the Spirit with which you prevail against the enemy, effect changes and frame your world.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for blessing me with your Word and for the glorious life you’ve given me in Christ! I’m glad to have Jesus as the Lord of my life and be controlled and ruled by the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." John 6:29 --

In what way can we encourage others to believe in Him too?

PASTOR CHRIS

As long as the world exists, there will be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.

(Genesis 8:22 GNB)

One of the most profound principles in the Word of God that guarantees continuous increase in finances is the principle of giving. Your giving is a channel to facilitate your receiving, for there can be no receiving without you first giving. 2 Corinthians 9:8 gives us divine insight into what your act of giving propels: “And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]” (AMP).

Another thing your giving does is that it establishes your righteousness: “Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness…” (2 Corinthians 9:10).

Our lives as Christians should depict the character of our heavenly Father, who gave His precious Son, Jesus for our salvation: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Make up your mind today to be a big giver like your Father, and activate the grace for receiving in your life.

CONFESSION

I am a big-time giver, and I invest wisely and rightly as I give for the propagation of the Gospel and the expansion of God’s Kingdom. When I give, I receive because God channels spiritual and material blessings to me from all over the world, Hallelujah!

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.  Peter 5:7 --

How can we let God take care of our problems?

PASTOR ANITA

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

(Ephesians 6:18)

The more time you spend in fellowship with the Lord through prayer, the more His character and personality are revealed in and through you. This is one of the most exciting benefits of prayer. Through prayer, your spiritual antenna is raised to pick God’s thoughts and think like Him. Some people only pray when they’re compelled to do so by certain challenges they face in life, and that’s not right. As Christians we’re called into fellowship with our heavenly Father.

You get to know the Lord and love Him more as you fellowship with Him through prayer and study of the Word. Praying, and praying the right way, is an important activity in the life of every Christian. It makes your life beautiful, vibrant, and exuberant with praise at all times. Take your personal times of prayer, devotions, and meditation very seriously. Create the opportunities in the course of your day to fellowship with the Lord through prayer.

When you pray often, especially in the spirit, you’ll live with a pure heart towards all men; you won’t criticize others as you’ll see only the good in them. Learn to intercede for others more than ever before. 1 Timothy 2:1 says, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.” Take this admonition of the Spirit seriously. Consciously practise this today! Take some time to pray for those around you, and for those in distant lands; it’s your priestly responsibility to do this.

As you spend more time in prayer, your life will flourish from glory to glory because prayer is more than just an opportunity to get God to do something for you! It’s a time to commune with the Lord and bask in rich spiritual consciousness; so give more time and attention to prayer.

PRAYER

Blessed Father, I pray that your Word will grow mightily and prevail in the lives of your children around the world, and that as they study your Word, you’ll grant them that inspired word they need to improve their lives, turn their situations around, and establish them in your glory today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Proverbs 3:6

Posted by Rhapsody Of Realities Mar 8, 2012

In all thy ways acknowledge God, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6 --

When you are off the path, do you ask God to get you back?

PASTOR CHRIS

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

(2 Peter 1:3)

In Christ Jesus, we have received the transcendent life. It’s a life of glory, virtue, excellence and perfection. It’s a life for the miraculous every day! Though He lived and died in our place as a man, His life on earth was an unending stream of the miraculous. He showed us an example to follow; letting us know we can do the same.  He felt pain and got tired and hungry like every one of us, and the Bible says “...he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8).

Jesus fasted like we do today, “to keep the flesh under,” because He wanted to obey God. He needed to be anointed by God to do the impossible (Acts 10:38); and prayed often. As Christians, we can and should also live as He did. If you follow His example, and practise His Word, you’ll certainly have the same results He had while He was on earth; you’ll live every day in the miraculous!

We actually don’t have any excuse; Jesus did everything He did for our sakes; we’re to learn of Him and live victoriously as He did—in the supernatural—every day!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the vicarious sacrifice of Jesus for me on the Cross which has made me a champion and a victor for ever! I thank you, Lord, for bringing me into your marvellous light, where I reign and rule as a king in this life, living every day in the supernatural, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

What does Christianity mean to you?

PASTOR CHRIS

For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

(Jeremiah 4:3)

Breaking up the “fallow grounds” of your heart and making it ready for the Word is your responsibility. You have to cultivate your spirit; that means prepare it for the entrance of God’s Word. In the scriptures, the Word of God is likened to a seed (Luke 8:11). The seed of the Word is designed to produce in you a harvest of what it talks about; health, prosperity, peace, joy, abundance, and victory. But if the heart is not made ready for the entrance of the Word it will not produce the desired results.

When a farmer cultivates his land, the first thing he does is to dig and stir it up: He ploughs it. Now, the Bible tells us to stir up the gift of God in us. That gift is the Holy Spirit, and one way to stir up His power in you is through speaking in tongues. When the power is stirred, it becomes easy for the Word of God to get into your spirit and sink deep into your consciousness.

The second thing a farmer does in preparing his land for sowing is to fertilize the land, and we fertilize our spirits through prayer. Through prayer, your spirit is conditioned and positioned rightly to receive the Word of God. Christians who pray often and accurately are always synchronized with God’s perfect will for their lives. They are positioned in God’s place, in God’s time, for God’s purpose, in God’s way.

When your spirit is cultivated, you’ll keep experiencing a harvest of the Word in your life. Never allow your heart lie fallow. Meditate on the Word and pray regularly, and your spirit will produce for you a harvest of the Word.

CONFESSION

I’m enabled by the Spirit of God to consistently cultivate my recreated human spirit, making it a suitable environment for the Word of God to grow, prevail and produce results of what it talks about in my life. Through the Word that I receive today, the glory of God is manifested in my life and expressed in everything I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

What is your favorite verse in the Bible?

PASTOR ANITA

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

(Acts 20:32)

There’s no gainsaying the fact that God’s Word is dependable. The Psalmist conveyed this truth succinctly in Psalm 119:89 when he declared, “…Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” He thus underlined the undisputable reliability of God’s Word, a fact known to the angels, demons and all of creation. What this implies, in effect, is that whatever God has said about you in His Word is dependable.

The Apostle Paul, in his parting address to the brethren at Ephesus, as read in our opening scripture, commended them to God, and to the Word of His grace, “…which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” For the Apostle to have “delivered” God’s people to God’s Word means the Word has enough power to build, sustain, transform and upgrade the life of anyone who’ll trust in it.

It doesn’t matter where you’ve been or what has happened to you; be of good cheer; because with the Word you can change things! You can trust the Word to effect changes in your family, home, finances, and physical body. All you have to do is accept what the Word says about you as absolute truth and refuse to be compelled by natural circumstances. You’re healthy, rich, powerful, full of grace, wisdom and strength; that’s what His Word says. However, you’ve got to acknowledge and declare this truth.

When sickness, poverty or fear tries to attack you, insist on what the Word says! Shout out loud, “It is written; I have the health of God in me! I’m rich! I’m more than a conqueror; a bundle of success, and a victor in Christ Jesus!” This is how you stand your ground on God’s Word and ensure its power is manifested in your life; it’s through your confessions of faith! Whatever the Lord has said about you is dependable, so be bold to speak the same thing in consent, and the Word will prevail in your life.

CONFESSION

I’m what God says I am; His Word is working in me mightily and producing the fruit of what it talks about! I live in divine health, supernatural abundance, and in continuous victory and prosperity because I live by God’s infallible and dependable Word! Glory To God!

What is your most unforgettable encounter with our Lord?

PASTOR CHRIS

And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

(Genesis 45:7)

The victory of Jesus over sin, death, and the devil wasn’t for Himself but for us. He battled on our behalf and gave us the victory; now we’ve become more than conquerors. That’s true success; it’s winning for others; helping them achieve and become what God has destined for them to be. Realize that what you make happen for others, the Lord will make happen for you. Win for others.

We find such an example in David, who battled Goliath, not for self-aggrandizement but for the common good of all Israel. When he first heard the giant cursing, he asked a question: “What will be done for the man who defeats the giant?” He was told among other things that he and his house will be free of taxes in Israel. Young as he was, his eyes sparkled at the thought of his entire family being exonerated from tax forever!

Aside from championing the cause for the entire nation of Israel, he was determined to win the battle against Goliath so his entire family would benefit. Thus, his victory was both for his immediate family, and for the entire people of Israel.

Learn to win for others. Don’t just make it through life thinking only about yourself. Make your world a better place. Be a problem-solver so others may gain and have a better life through your ingenuity, innovations, and the ideas of the Spirit that come through you. See the challenges around you as opportunities for victory, for indeed they are! Ask the Lord to grant you the knowledge and wisdom to solve problems for yourself and others.

CONFESSION

I have the supernatural wisdom and ability to do the impossible, because the Greater One lives in me! I recognize life’s challenges as my opportunities to win and make my world a better place. I’m a champion for my generation, and a problem-solver. Through me, lives will be saved, transformed and preserved today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

What do you love most about God?

PASTOR CHRIS

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

(Proverbs 22:29)

To a large extent, you’re defined by the work you do; I’ll explain what I mean. The Word of God truly defines you, but the Word of God must be put to work; it must be expressed or find vent through you. God’s Word is expressed through you in your work, your relationships, and everything you do. However, if we were to analyze this on a daily basis, most people certainly spend much of their time on their jobs. You probably spend more hours on your job, business, or career than you do at home or with other people!

This therefore means that if the Word of God is not properly expressed through you—in your work—it’s a signal something is wrong. This is the reason you must be excellent, diligent, and ensure nothing but perfection in what you do. Your work is where you express all the skills and potentials that you’ve built into you; so it’s important that you choose to be successful in God’s eyes primarily, and definitely with respect to your work. Many don’t realize this, and so allow much room for mediocrity in their work.

As a Christian, God demands nothing short of excellence and perfection from you. Jesus said in Matthew 5:48, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” The Lord wouldn’t ask this of you if it weren’t possible! That He demands perfection from you shows that He’s given you an excellent spirit, and the ability to do things perfectly.

The need to shun and eschew mundanity from your work and character is reiterated by the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 13:11: “Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect….” The word perfect here is the Greek: “katartizo,” which means to do things perfectly; to thoroughly restore, mend, frame or complete an endeavour by paying attention to details. Never allow anyone cheat you out of God’s best by telling you “No one is perfect”; the Word says to be; so choose to do the Word. Inspire those around you by the excellence and perfection with which you do what you do!

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for making me pure and perfect in heart, such that I’m able to reason and function at a high level of wisdom, excellence and perfection. Thank you for giving me a heart that sees, understands and pays attention to details; that enables me to bring every project or endeavour to an excellent and perfect finish, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

How do you express your love for God?

PASTOR ANITA

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

(Mark 11:23)

As long as you’re discussing or musing over the challenges you’re facing, instead of eyeballing them and commanding a change, you’re not going to get the result Jesus spoke about in the scripture above. Maybe it’s a growth in a certain part of your body, and you’ve been complaining about it to everyone around and even receiving sympathy from them; it’s time to stop talking about it and talk to it! Say “Growth, die and pass out of my body in Jesus’ Name,” and begin to rejoice that it’s done.

Perhaps you’ve been having financial difficulties; it’s time to speak and cause a change! God gave you a mouth so you can speak and effect the changes you desire in your life. Your words rule your life; they’re what determine whether you’re going to be a success or a failure. What you say is what you get, positive or negative.

Quit complaining to God or to those around you about your predicament; command a change in the Name of Jesus! Talk to whatever seems to be a mountain before you right now. Whether it’s in your body, your finances, your home, or your business; declare the Word of God in faith and surely there’ll be a change. Move that mountain!

Don’t speak and start watching to see whether or not the mountain has gone; that’s not faith. Faith considers the mountain gone once it has spoken! Jesus said to His disciples after He cursed the fig tree “…Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done” (Matthew 21:21). This is the recipe for effecting a change in any situation. To move that mountain, all you need is to declare words of faith.

CONFESSION

As I vocalize my faith today, mountains move, valleys are filled and every crooked path is made straight! The Word of faith that changes things is in my heart and in my mouth, sharper than any two-edged sword; therefore the situations and circumstances of life conform with God’s destiny for me in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

What made you decide to give your life to God?

PASTOR CHRIS

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

(Hosea 4:6)

Applying accurate knowledge of God’s Word is indispensable if you must live a successful and victorious life in Christ. God said my people are destroyed, not because Satan is powerful, or because they don’t pray much, but for their lack of revelation knowledge; for not applying accurate knowledge of the Word. Don’t assume the Bible says something you haven’t verified; study to know; and apply yourself to doing what the Lord wants as revealed in His Word. The account of Cain and Abel in the Book of Genesis is very instructive in this regard.

The Bible says Abel’s offerings were accepted, while Cain’s offerings were rejected; why? Because Cain didn’t offer his sacrifice to God according to knowledge; he gave God what he chose to give without considering what he was supposed to give to the Lord. He didn’t function according to knowledge. They were both to give the best of their produce—the first fruits; but Cain merely took whatever he could find from amongst his crops and offered them to the Lord as sacrifice: “…it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord” (Genesis 4:3). Abel, on the other hand, took “…the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof” (Genesis 4:4). He gave God the first fruits (the first and the best) as required, and the Lord honoured his offering. This is just like some Christians today; there’re things we like to do, but there’re things we’ve been counselled and instructed by the Word of God to do. What God wants is that which He asked you to do; not what you “feel” like doing! Do what His Word instructs, for that’s how to walk in His blessings.

PRAYER

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for enlightening my heart with the revelations of your Word and granting me insights into the realities of the Kingdom. I apply accurate knowledge of your Word today in all my dealings, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
