Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
(2 Corinthians 13:5)
Examine yourself with the Word of God to be sure you’re on course in your walk of faith. Our faith is nothing without love. The Bible says, “IF I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal” (1 Corinthian 13:1AMP).
2 Timothy 3:16-17 says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” As you meditate on the Word it renews your mind and programmes your spirit for excellence. Philippians 4:8 gives us the list of the kind of things to meditate on: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
You can use the Word of God to produce whatever you desire, and cultivate an excellent life. When you think and talk the Word, you cannot but live the Word. So regulate your life, your conduct—everything about you—with the Word.
Through your Word, O Lord, divine wisdom is imparted to my spirit, and my understanding of who you are; thus, my position in Christ Jesus is further enlightened. Thank you Lord for teaching me today the importance of renewing my mind with your Word, thereby programming my spirit for excellence and the transcendent life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
